As Director for NXN’s Smart Cities and District Practice, Anwer Kotob leads the team of consultants that help city planners and governments assess challenges, identify digital opportunities, master-plan smart city infrastructure and services, and manage digital transformation. He works closely with government leaders to define and prioritise their smart city plans, putting stakeholder experience at the heart of the planning cycle.
Anwer is an outcome-focused strategist, with more than 25 years of experience in planning, developing and implementing complex technology and communications projects. He is an expert consultant to educational institutions, service providers and the public sector in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Before assuming his current role, Anwer was NXN’s Project Director, leading large-scale customer engagements in the areas of smart cities and public sector digital transformation. Prior to joining NXN, he was the Industry Value Engineering Lead for Public Services in MENA at SAP, charged with setting the market strategy, developing the business and increasing SAP’s market share in the public services arena. Previously, he served as Chief Technologist, HP Networking at Hewlett Packard and held a variety of managerial positions during his 16 year tenure at Cisco.
Anwer holds dual master’s degrees in Civil Engineering and Computer Studies from the North Carolina State University, USA.
